We were recently happy to announce we are working alongside placements to offer Traineeships.
Traineeships are a 12-week programme available for 16-18-year-olds, working towards being offered an Apprenticeship at the end of the course. Each learner will work a minimum of 70 hours in a placement to gain experience and skills desired by future employers and a look into what the future holds. On top of gaining an advantage into what the future holds, the unpaid internship offers each trainee a DBS check and access to Social Care TV courses which are used towards The Care Certificate, needed to work in the care sector.
Traineeships were introduced by the UK Government in the 2013/14 academic year, designed as a stepping-stone between an apprenticeship or other work to equip young people with work experience and English and Maths Qualifications. In the 2020/21 academic period, there were 17,400 traineeship starts recorded, an increase from 2019/20 by 43.5%, 9,900 of which were under the age of 19. In the 2019/20 academic year, it was recorded that 7,000 under 19’s had completed their Traineeship, meaning the completion rate was 76.1%. You can find more statistics and information here.
